Abstract
This research has been carried out in order to estimate the migratory flight of Chaffinch (Fringilla coelebs) andSong thrush (Turdus philomelos) populations across the Tuscan Apennines ridge. Four observation points have been used between 1995 and 2002 and the census methodology consisted in sighting.
The results show a great increase in Chaffinch populations; instead, Song thrush populations seem to be constant
in time. The results also point out the relationship between the population dynamic of these two species and the environmental changes in stopping and wintering areas.
