Abstract

This study offers up-to-date information about new measures of forest planning recently implemented in Piemonte, which are going to return a detailed inventory of the forest resource available together with various data and means helpful for its management on multifunctional bases. After a description of the technical and administrative procedures for obtaining the cutting license, figures concerning the private firms and regional workers involved in forest harvesting are analyzed. Indications on the main methods and system of operating in forest environment and some new aspects emerging in the local forest sector are finally reported.
