The modern wood-based panels

Abstract

The article describes the main types of wood-based panels traditionally used for building purposes, both structural or not, and for furniture applications, briefly analyzing their specific characteristics, importance and future trends. It also summarizes the framework concerning the standardization of these products at national, EN and ISO level, showing the criteria on which the new normative documents are based and underlining their rule as technical support for a correct application of some legal requirements and for the entire economical activity within this sector.
