Abstract

This research consists of a provenance trial on five population of Quercus robur from Piemonte (Northern Italy).
The study includes the analysis of seeds characteristics and seedlings growth in the nursery. On march 2003 two
experimental plots were realized in the provinces of Vercelli and Torino. After the first four vegetative seasons data about survival, growth and leading shoot characteristics were collected. Differences among the five provenances for most of the considered characters were observed.
