Abstract

This paper describes the methodology utilised for the choice of populations suitable for the collection of seeds production stands of Quercus robur of Piemonte (Northern Italy) for a provenance trial. Five populations have been chosen for their representativity in this geographic area. Furthermore the paper describes main ecological characteristics of the sites chosen for the implementation of the provenance trials.
