Abstract

Forestry production costs are one of the most relevant information both from an economic and appraisal point of
view. In the first arena they are important for recognising optimal allocation of resources, while, in the second arena, they are fundamental for determining stumpage price.
The Author analyses the various types of costs, their components and evaluation procedures. The specific cost of
machinery, the operational costs and finally the global cost of the entire forestry intervention are presented step by step. In the concluding paragraph, the Author presents the restrictions that follow-up their evaluation and use.
