Abstract

The paper deals with the description of a preliminary experience of risk assessment at national leve1 in Italy, adopting new data base, available from national research projects concerning climate, land cover and digital terrain model. A brief examination of favourable and determining factors proceeds the discussion of integrating methods for risk assessment and mapping. Finally perspectives for an operational analysis of the whole country is discussed.
