Abstract

The paper focuses on forest interventions and innovative actions carried out in the public forests managed by the Sardinia Forest Agency. In Sardinia the impact of human activity has strongly altered forest distribution, composition, structure and functioning.Forest management carried out by the Sardinia Forest Agency offers significant and innovative options to reduce forest degradation and increase the rate of afforestation,reforestation, forest restoration and changes to forest management practices. These measures are essential forunderpinning sustainaible development.
