Abstract

In this paper, after a review of both the drop size distribution (DSD) proposed by Ulbrich and the related relationship for evaluating the kinetic power, the theoretical DSD is tested by the measurements carried out with an optical disdrometer. Finally, the relationship proposed by Wischmeier and Smith for calculating the kinetic power is experimentally tested.
