Abstract

The open check-dam produces a discriminating retention of fluvial sediment transport and is able to preserve the equilibrium of the fluvial reaches downstream from the rehabilitation works. In this paper, for the case of an open check-dam with a linear slot, the equations available for solving technical problems are presented. Finally, some closed form equations useful to solve the technical problems (verification and design) are deduced.
