Abstract
This paper describes the origin and evolution of Forest territorial plans in Piedmont. The process, started way before the spread of these planning instruments, is analyzed in detail with specific reference to participatory and multidisciplinary methods, also in view of integrating the PFIT with other land planning instruments.
