Abstract
The idea of a «Silvomuseum» at Vallombrosa developed within the framework of the Multiple-use Management Plan for the Vallombrosa Forest. The «Silvomuseum» is a homage to the intuition and the work of the Vallombrosa Benedictine Monks. The aim of the «Silvomuseum» is that of keeping alive the cultivation system conceived by the Monks, thus conserving the traditional knowledge of the past and the typical landscape of the Vallombrosa fir stands.
