Italian national legislation for forest landscape protection and regional enforcement laws

Abstract
The problem of renaturalisation is a question of interest both in EU programme documents and in planning procedures in Italy, especially in protected areas. Italian Parliament Act n. 431 of 1985 regarding forest landscape protection is briefly examined. This Act provides for the valorisation of forest landscape by specific plans that must be drawn out and enforced by the Regional administrations.
