Forest fire management planning after the law 353/2000

Abstract

The most irnportant characteristics of wildfire planning are described according to the National frame law 353/2000. Of this law both positive and negative aspects are pointed out. The aspects to be introduced in the Regional Wildfire Plans are described together with the criteria and the temporal steps achieved during the evolution of wildfire planning. Besides following law indications, wildfire planning must be realized according to the evolution of fire fighting criteria and has to be treated as a complex problem that takes into account technical, political, social and economica1 aspects
