Abstract
«Guadine-Pradaccio» is a small reserve (240 ha) in the Northern Appennines. This paper highlights the biological and ecological richness of the reserve, where man’s activity was very important for modelling the landscape over the centuries. In this contest, management should mantain and enhance biological complexity and natural evolution. Thus, preservation and renaturalization (sensu CIANCIO e NOCENTINI, 1995) are possible forms of management. The first is a passive management, only based on monitoring natural dynamics, in the second case silviculture should allow evolution of the system toward more complex forms.
