Abstract

A trial was carried out in the Altopiano dei Sette Comuni (Vicenza Province - North Italy) to verify the influence of the forest environment on the chainsaw noise diffusion during the felling, delimbing and cross-cutting operations. It has been established the distance from the noise source beyond which the daily personal exposition is lower than the law limits which provide the use of hearing protectors.
