«Inhuman» forests for deers

Abstract

Forest, in the sense of large wood, gives shelter not only to Non Human Animals but also to the Human Animals that are very distant from forest ecosystem. Forests and Woods had in the past a deep symbolic significance and they were initiation places. Today, this power has vanished. Taking into account the ancient symbolic power of deer and roe, new but important, it will be necessary to reconsider forests as the suitable place for a new educational approach to Nature. When one goes into a «Deer forest» it is necessary to «dehumanize» oneself and start again along the lost initiatory way. The paper presents some practical advices to move humanity back to its ancient link with Nature and Wilderness.
