Abstract

This paper reports results of a research on wildfires carried out in Cilento. Data show that occurrence of wildfires increased in the last 25 years and regarded reducted areas, principally located near the coast. Finally, it is shown a situation similar to northern Mediterranean basin: although climata is certainly a factor that have an influence on fire, the change in the land use caused the increase of vegetation structures more sensible to fire risk
