Abstract
The paper reports the output that was obtained with two work organizations, each of that was carried out at a different high-forest operation site in the Italian Alps: (1) Alpine model, i.e. chainsaw felling, skyline extraction, and mechanized processing (processor) at the landing site; (2) Scandinavian model, i.e. harvester felling and processing, and forwarder extraction. Both sites were managed from private specialized enterprises.
