Abstract

The present paper presents key issues of international forestry like the recent evolution trends of forest cover and its linkages to socioeconomic changes, forests and climate change including the emergence of REDD, forest biodiversity, dry land forestry, forest fires, forestry and green economies and forest communication and the International Year of the Forests celebrated in 2011.
